Nico by Luca is the ultimate expression of Laura Catena’s vision for Argentine wine and takes the notion of Argentine Malbec to a new, more premium level. A pioneer in Mendoza wine-making, Catena works closely with small Argentine family growers to grow very high quality grapes from some of the country’s best low-yield, high elevation vineyards. Luca by Nico is a blend of old-vine grapes from two of Mendoza’s most respected growers, located in three different districts. State-of-the-art winemaking and 12 months of aging on 100% new French oak elevates the wine to a level of superior quality. This is a huge wine that has incredible color, depth and concentration, but never loses its ability to exude the red and black fruits and spice that are the true expression of Malbec in Mendoza. Only 4 barrels produced.

95 Points- Robert M. Parker, Jr.’s “The Wine Advocate” “Dense purple-colored, it offers a splendid nose of pain grille, mineral, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur. This leads to a full-bodied, opulent wine with gobs of savory fruit, outstanding balance, and serious aging potential. There are only 400 3-packs of this phenomenal effort.” 94 Points- Wine Spectator “Exotic, with intensely concentrated but remarkably creamy fig, raspberry, boysenberry and currant fruit, seamlessly stitched with mocha and fruitcake notes. A nice bittersweet ganache twinge and a racy graphite underpinning on the finish helps keep it all honest. Very impressive.”
